Barcelona centre-back Ronald Araujo has reportedly agreed to a move to Juventus, sending shockwaves through the Catalan capital.
Araujo, who made his first appearance of the season in Barcelona’s 4-0 Copa del Rey victory over fourth-tier Barbastro in January after recovering from a serious hamstring injury, captained the team during the match. However, the towering defender has yet to sign a new contract with the club.

Following reports from Gazzetta dello Sport about Ronald Araujo potentially agreeing to terms with Juventus, MARCA has strongly denied any such developments, stating that Barcelona has no knowledge of any talks between the player and the Italian club, particularly at an advanced stage. This contradiction has sparked skepticism among insiders and supporters, especially considering Araujo’s standing within the club after six and a half years of service.
Araujo, who has been struggling with injuries in recent seasons, is reportedly seeking a change of environment, which may have contributed to these speculations. Juventus, under the guidance of manager Thiago Motta, is eager to bolster its defensive line due to a series of injuries that have left them without key players such as Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal for the rest of the season, with veteran Danilo also rumored to be available for transfer.

Raphinha has acknowledged that the confusion surrounding Dani Olmo’s La Liga registration could cause potential signings to hesitate before committing to Barcelona this year.
Barcelona brought Olmo in for nearly €60m last summer but could only temporarily register him due to an injury to Andreas Christensen. That temporary registration expired on December 31, and the Blaugrana failed to secure an extension before the deadline passed.
La Liga has reiterated its stance that players cannot receive a second registration for the same club within a single season, leaving Barcelona scrambling to appeal to the Spanish government in a final bid to secure another license for Olmo, who faces the risk of contract termination and free agency if he isn’t re-registered, along with young forward Pau Victor, who is in a similar predicament.
“It’s a very complicated situation,” Raphinha shared with the media. “We never want to go through these moments; they are complicated for us and for them, who don’t know if they will play or not.”
“We are trying to make it not so difficult for them. We hope that those in charge can resolve this as quickly as possible so that they can play with us again.”

When asked if the uncertainty surrounding Olmo and Victor could affect potential future signings, Raphinha candidly admitted: “Yes, I can’t say no. I would be lying and I don’t like lying.”
“If I were at another club and I was experiencing the situation of Pau and Dani, perhaps I would think about whether it would be better to be here. When I arrived here, I knew the situation of the club.”
Reports suggest that Olmo could potentially leave Barcelona on loan this month. Additionally, there have been claims of a unique arrangement that would allow Olmo to depart on a free transfer, with plans for him to return to the club after spending six months elsewhere.
