Italian journalist Ivan Zazzaroni emphasizes that Juventus has yet to find a player to replace Federico Chiesa after his departure.

Thiago Motta chose to leave the Italian out of his plans, believing he didn’t fit his tactical strategy. As a result, the winger completed a late-summer transfer to Liverpool.

Although the Euro 2020 winner has yet to debut at Anfield, Zazzaroni believes his impact is already being felt in Turin.

The editor-in-chief of Corriere dello Sport argues that the Bianconeri lack a player who can change the game with the same energy that Chiesa brought.

As a result, the journalist needs help to grasp the reasons for his exclusion.

“I still find the renunciation of Chiesa incomprehensible,” Zazzaroni stated this in his column for CdS, as reported by IlBianconero.

“Fede knows how to imapact the game like no one else in the current Juventus side.”

Conversely, the experienced columnist believes that Yildiz’s rapid ascent and the role of the Number 10 might need to be revised, a perspective that brings a sense of hope for the team’s future.

“The number ten on his shoulders is, for the moment, just a nice suggestion. He is talented, but he remains green.

“This acceleration puts pressure on him and does not help. And now I am curious to see how Juve will cope in the Champions League if the air of Europe will act as an additional stimulus.

“We are still in the first weeks of the season, so it is too early for reliable evaluations.”

Adrien Rabiot agrees deal with Olympique Marseille

Former Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot has reached a preliminary agreement with Ligue 1 club Marseille and will join, pending a medical examination.

The Frenchman’s contract with Juventus ended in July, leaving him a free agent. Several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, have reportedly shown interest in acquiring him.

However, he has chosen to return to France, and the details regarding the length and salary of his new contract are still unclear.

Marseille announced the news on X, stating, “Olympique de Marseille announces that it has reached an agreement in principle with Adrien Rabiot for the arrival at the club of the French international midfielder.

“The player will sign with OM subject to the result of his medical.”

Rabiot spent five years at Juventus, where he secured the Serie A title in his debut season and two Coppa Italia titles. However, he reportedly decided against extending his contract with the club, citing a desire for a new challenge and more playing time.

Rabiot began his career at Paris Saint-Germain, joining the club’s academy at 15 and making his first-team debut in 2012.

During his seven years with the Parisian giants, he won 18 major titles, including five Ligue 1 championships and two domestic trebles, before leaving on a free transfer for Turin.

The 29-year-old has 48 senior caps for France and was included in the Euro 2024 squad, playing five matches before their semi-final defeat to Spain.

With questions surrounding his club’s future, he was omitted from France coach Didier Deschamps’ squad for the upcoming Nations League matches this autumn.

Marseille, a fierce rival of PSG, currently holds second place in Ligue 1. Rabiot joins a lineup of summer additions, including new manager Roberto de Zerbi, who came from Brighton, along with players like Mason Greenwood, Neal Maupay, and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
